He was born in Copperhill on June 11, 1954, a son the late Glen and Dorothy Verner.
He spent most of his life in Turtletown, then relocated to the Cleveland area 11 years ago. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked as a truck driver and enjoyed being an avid NASCAR fan as a pastime.
He is survived by two daughters: Whitney Winters (Josh) of South Pittsburg, and Brooke Yates (Chris) of Dandridge; one son Larry Verner of Murphy, N.C.; one sister, Jeanine Stiles (Jim) of Turtletown; one brother, Harold Harrison Verner (Diana) of Calhoun; five grandchildren; a companion, Rebecca Collier of Knoxville; and numerous extended family members and friends.
A memorial service is scheduled for Sunday, May 20, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Freedom Baptist Church, located on McJunkin Road in Turtletown, 37391, with the Revs. Ray Harper and Steve Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends there at the church on Sunday from 2 to 3 pm. service time.
The family acknowledges Hospice of Chattanooga for the excellent care rendered to Keith. They request that, in lieu of flowers, friends and family make a donation to Hospice of Chattanooga in memory of Keith.
