The Career Coach is a 35-foot bus that comes loaded with a mobile computer lab with Internet access. It is staffed with individuals who can provide assistance on resume writing, interviewing skills and help with your search for employment across the state. Anyone looking for a job should stop by and see if the Career Coach can help you.
Local artist Marcos M. Martinez’s works will be displayed in the first floor Galleria. Martinez was born and raised in Mexico and now resides in Cleveland. It has been said of his work that he paints like a young boy’s first love. The display will continue through June.
“A Taste of English Gardens” will be presented May 22 at 7 p.m. in the Cleveland Bradley Community Room by Ruth Baumgardner, master gardener and owner of Mouse Creek Perennial Farms. This is a free event open to the public.
The library is continuing registration for our summer reading programs. “Dream Big … READ!” is the theme for this year’s children’s program. The kickoff date is June 9 at 2 p.m. The program will run June 11 through July 27. When you register, you will receive a book mark and reading log to track all your reading. Stop by the Children’s Desk to register for summer activity session that will be held each week.
“Own the Night” will be the Teen program which will kick off June 15 at 7 p.m. with an After Hours Masquerade Party. “Between the Covers” is the adult summer reading program which officially has begun, but it is not too late to participate. Adults will have a chance at winning an Amazon Kindle, an MP3 player or an Amazon.com gift certificate by completing program requirements. Stop by and register today.
The Scholastic Book Fair begins May 29. There will be plenty of deals at our Summer Reading Book Fair as all items will be buy one, get one free. There will be hundreds of books to choose from. Books make great birthday presents and all proceeds raised from this book sale go to purchase additional books for the Children’s collection.
The library will be closed May 28 in observation of Memorial Day.
