Annis Ruth Campbell Horne, 73, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, May 17, 2012, in an Athens healthcare facility.

She retired in July 2004 as a secretary at Lee University after 35 years of service.

She was a member of Westmore Church of God.

She enjoyed her Precept inductive Bible studies and sharing Christ with others. She loved spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Glenn and Shirley Redden Campbell; infant sister, Joy Lee Campbell; and sister-in-law, Janice Campbell.

She is survived by her husband of 53 and one-half years, S. Watson Horne of Cleveland; daughters: Lynette Hafley and husband, Terry, of Cleveland, Letha McCurry and husband, Steve, of Cleveland, Debbie Smith and husband, Ben, of Fort Worth, Texas. and Carmen Darnell (Jay Headrick) of Dalton, Ga.; 11 grandchildren: Jason (Jennifer) Hafley, Tanner (Amber) Hafley, Jared McCurry (Sarah Knecht), Erica McCurry (Brandon Welch), Tyler (Lillian) McCurry, Piper Smith (Joseph Thomas), Mal Smith, Jimmy Darnell, Kaity Darnell, Maci Headrick and Jessica Headrick; eight great-grandchildren: Cole Hafley, Izabella Jones, Claire Hafley, Landon Hafley, Jonah Hafley, Adia Welch, Liam McCurry and Abby Knecht; sister, Glenna (Lonzo) Kirkland of Cleveland; three brothers: Joe Campbell, George (Debbie) Campbell and Mike Campbell, all of Cleveland; several nieces and nephews; and caregiver and friend, Bertie Hicks.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2012, at Westmore Church of God with pastor Wendell Smith officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and sons-in-law and grandsons-in-law will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. t day at Grissom Funeral Home and on Monday one hour prior to the service at the church.
