He is the son of the late Robert Lee Owens and Willie Lee Roberts.
He was a native of Chattanooga, living there his entire life. He was a contract draftsman by trade for many years. He drafted for a number of companies nationwide throughout his career.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by three aunts: Sarah Manning (Lamar), Winnie Mae Sanders, Nancy Lecroy; and his uncle, Charles (Gene) Sanders.
The family will have a graveside service at Ruth Cofer Cemetery in Chattanooga, Thursday, May 24, 2012, at 1 p.m.
