Edith Eloise Keith Hawkins, 82, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012, at her home.
She was the daughter of the late Harle Roosevelt Keith and Marie Keith. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, James Burton ‘J.B.’ Hawkins; two sons: Ralph Burton ‘R.B.’ Hawkins and Randall Gene ‘Randy’ Hawkins; and an infant brother, Evaughn Keith.
She was retired from Charleston Hosiery Mills and was an active member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church. She loved fishing, gardening and yard sales.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Anderson and her husband, Darrell; son, Larry Hawkins and his wife, Sha-Ron; two daughters-in-law: Kim Hawkins and Joyce Hawkins, all of Cleveland; one sister, Berniece Pell of Cleveland; one brother, Kenneth Keith of Cleveland; grandchildren, Pam Hawkins, Wendell Hawkins, Ralph Hawkins, Diedre Hawkins, Misty Hawkins, Dale Hawkins, Dustin Hawkins, Ladena Anderson McCracken, Shannon Anderson Vincent, Amanda Hawkins Long and Candace Hawkins; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; half brothers, half sisters and special nieces and nephews.
A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 4 p.m. today, May 27, 2012, at New Salem Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor A.C. Cooper and the Rev. Doyle McCracken officiating.
Interment will follow in Union Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery with Dale Hawkins, Dustin Hawkins, Patrick McCracken, Johnny Norton, Rodney Neely and Jeremy Monger serving as pallbearers.
The body will be at the church for viewing from 2 p.m. today until the time of the service at 4 p.m.
