Altheia Green, 97, a resident of Cleveland left for heaven May 23, 2012, in a local nursing facility.

She was the daughter of the late James and Mattie Williams of Dayton, and was also preceded in death by her husband, Delmar S. Green; brothers: Ueal, William, Ford and Ansel Williams; and sisters: Ethel Brumley, Vergie Bishop, Lorena Stuarts, Ella Mae Davis and Betty Williams.

She was a past member of Four Square Gospel in Dayton, First United Methodist and Asbury United Methodist in Cleveland.

She was in the choir and worked with Sunday school classes at Asbury. She also worked several years with the Calvary Baptist Church bus ministry.

She is survived by her children and spouses: Martha and David Newman and Walter and Connie Green, all of Cleveland; grandchildren: Michael Newman, Bryan Newman, Margaret Green, Jonathan Green; great-grandchildren: Taylor Newman, Drew Newman and Caitlyn Lynn, all of Cleveland; one sister, Evelyn “Toni” Eakins of Dayton; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at the North Chapel of the Jim Rush Funeral Homes with the Rev. Kenneth Scoggins officiating.

Interment will follow in the Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from noon until 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
