Marilyn Core Joyner, 75, of Cleveland, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012, in a local health care facility.

She was a retired registered nurse who served for 25 years at Bradley Memorial Hospital and Bradley Healthcare and Rehab. She was a member of Westmore Church of God where she was active in the Senior Adult Ministry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Ray C. Joyner; parents, Earl and Cora Lee King Core; and sisters, Norma Jean Coleman and Mary Howell.

Her survivors include four children, Ray C. Joyner, Jr., of Soddy-Daisy, Jeffrey Eric Joyner of Cleveland, Judy Joyner Page of Portland, Maine, and Joel Timothy Joyner of Cleveland; 10 grandchildren, Kevin Joyner, Jesse Joyner, Joshua Joyner, Emily Gallant, Jessica Guill, Haley Joyner, Julia Joyner, Ashley Waldrop, and Allison Burdashaw; 18 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Barney Core and Ed Core, both of Folsom, Ala.; and also several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, at Westmore Church of God with the Revs. Kelvin Page, Wendell Smith and Glen Howell officiating. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.

The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, May 29, 2012, prior to the service at the church.
