George Edward “Bozo” Baker, of Little Rock, Ark., passed away Tuesday, May 8, 2012.

He was preceded in death by his parents, James Haskell Baker and Ruth Bryan Baker.

He graduated from Cleveland High School, where he excelled in basketball and baseball. He attended Cleveland State Community College before joining the Army National Guard. In the spring of 1973, he graduated with highest honors from Officer Candidate School.

After 25 years of service he retired as a major. He loved playing golf, watching the History Channel, and playing trivia with friends.

Survivors include his two sons: Bryan Tyler Baker (Rachel and their son, Oliver Andrew Baker) of Huntsville, Ala., and Andrew Johnston Baker of Washington, D.C.; two siblings: Barbara Ruth Hopson of Blountville and Levon R. Baker of Cleveland; he will also be remembered by Kathryne Johnston Baker of Little Rock; and two nephews: Phillip James Hopson and Jamie Richard Baker.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at the Beaty-Triplett Cemetery with Deacon Art Bass officiating.

The service will conclude with military honors.

Memorials may be made to the Catholic High School Foundation in Little Rock, Ark.
