Charles “Uncle Charlie” Edward Parks, 69, of Cleveland and formerly of Georgetown, died Wednesday, May 30, 2012, in a local hospital.
He was retired from Cleveland Ready Mix after 25 years of service and seven years at Bradley Concrete Co.
He is preceded in death by his parents, James Clarence and Gladys Parks; and two brothers: Lonnie and Jan Parks.
Survivors include his wife, Willie Lee Parks of Cleveland; two daughters: Judy Parks and Tina Parks, both of Chattanooga; one son, Charles Parks Jr. (Donna) of Chattanooga; eight grandchildren: Tequila Parks, Shakkar Robinson, Sharnea Parks, Cornelius Parks, Damario Parks, Casey Moore, Dekesha Parks and Dacory Parks; three great-grandchildren; two sisters: Marcella Parks and Judy Dodd, both of Cleveland; one brother, James Clarence Parks (Vivian) of Cleveland; one brother-in-law, Erskine Piersaul (Reginia) of Cleveland; one sister-in-law, Lonnie Lacey of Huntsville, Ala.; special friend, Rita McDermott of Charleston; and many loving nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
The funeral will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012, in the chapel of M.D. Dotson and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Leuty McDermott officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home from 2 to 3 p.m.
Interment will follow at Burkett’s Chapel Cemetery in Big Springs.
