She was a 1971 graduate of Cleveland High School and received an Associate of Science degree in 2003 from Cleveland State. She was affectionately called “MiMi” by her grandchildren, was a member of First Baptist Church, and enjoyed working at the YMCA since 2003, where she developed meaningful friendships.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry M. Scullion and Gwen Gibbs Scullion.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Kenneth Reed Brock of Cleveland; five children: Reed Matthew Brock of Red Bank, Ryan David Brock, Reece Cameron Brock, Lesley Marie Avery and husband, Jamie and Lisa Kristine Jones, all of Cleveland; nine grandchildren: Judah Avery, Noah Avery, Mason Jones, Madeline Jones, Makenley Jones, Millie Jones, Myra Jones, Maleah “Weezy” Jones and Macey Jones; sister, Mary Carter and husband, Tony, of Charleston, S.C. and nephews: Chris Carter and Stuart Carter.
The funeral will be held at 7 p.m., today, June 4, 2012, at First Baptist Church with the Rev. Tom Wickes and the Rev. James Avery officiating.
Interment will be at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 5, 2012, in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The service will conclude with a white dove release ceremony.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m., today at the church prior to the service.
