An investigation began as two Bradley County deputies responded to calls. Deputy Darren Miller went to a Patterson Road address and spoke with Frank Ellis, who had been in the process of reporting his mower missing.
As Miller left the residence, he noticed the mower sitting on the side of the road.
A neighbor reported seeing a white male leave the mower there and told Miller where the suspect could be found.
According to the report filed by Miller, deputy Brandon Edwards was called to another residence on Pickens Street regarding a person who was banned from the property.
Jordan Levi Smith, 19, was taken into custody and when a search was performed, Edwards reportedly found a John Deere key in his pocket.
After further investigation, the deputies and detective Carl Maskew of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division determined Smith to be the suspect in the theft.
Smith was charged with burglary and theft over $1,000.
n Currency was reported stolen from a 15th Street resident. No suspects have been determined in the case.
According to a report filed by deputy Shaun McKee, he responded to the home of Patricia Lindsey.
Lindsey said someone broke into her home sometime during the weekend and took a sum of cash from her purse.
Investigators believe the perpetrator utilized a window to gain entry into the home.
Detective Laura Lane was notified of the incident and the investigation is ongoing.
n Deputy Tim Robinson arrested an 8th Street resident for taking two real estate signs without the permission of the owner, according to his report.
Jeffery M. Blair, 50, was arrested after Robinson observed him carrying the signs.
Blair allegedly told the deputy someone had given him permission to take them.
An official with ReMax said Blair did not have permission to take the signs.
Blair was taken into custody and charged with theft under $500.
