Chilhowee Dance and Performing Arts Center and The Avant Garde Company presented the ninth annual spring recital May 19 at The Dixon Center. Abbi Cook, a rising sophomore at Bradley Central High School, was crowned as 2012 Miss CDPAC. She is the daughter of Bryan and Traclyn Cook. The 2012 Miss CDPAC is shown with Caitlyn Lynn, 2011 Miss CDPAC Miss CDPAC is voted on by the CDPAC students and company dancers. Other awards given that night were Tiny Tot Dancer of the Year, Gabbi Hamilton, Mimi Dancer of the Year, Makenzi Gibson, Petite Dancer of the Year Lydia Mitchell, Junior Dancer of the Year Lexi Valliere, Teen Dancer of the Year Allie Elliott, Senior Dancer of the Year Danielle Farrell, Most Improved Dancer of the Year, Madie Hall, and CDPAC Spirit Award, Mayo Sommers. CDPAC is under the direction of Nisa Hooper. Master staff includes Tria Montgomery, Caitlyn Lynn, Bill Reid, Alex Wright, Abby Bowman, Desmond Smith and Allyson Valliere. The June Summer Sessions are under way. July open house and registration is July 10; fall open house and platinum registration is Aug. 6.
