Carolyn Smith Garrett, 65, a lifelong resident of Birchwood, went home to be with her Lord and loved ones Sunday, June 10, 2012.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle “Whitey” Garrett.

She was of the Baptist faith. She was dearly loved and her beautiful smile will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy Lowe of Birchwood; sons: Mark Garrett and his wife, Tammy, and Shane Garrett, all of Birchwood; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and countless friends.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2012, at the North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral Homes with Dr. James Hutchings and the Rev. Johnny Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in the Bald Hill Cemetery with Jeremy Howard, Randall Gray, Johnny Sims, Henry Hardin, Jason Cook, Danny Gray, Josh Cook and Eddie Gray serving as casket bearers.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
