COLBY SMITH received the fifth Zach Bowman Memorial Band Scholarship presented by the Bowman family. The scholarship was created by Zach’s family to honor his memory and love of music for an eighth-grade band student attending Bradley Central High School and following in Zach’s footsteps. The scholarship pays the band fees for the freshman year for the student. Zach tragically lost his life on March 15, 2007, in a four-wheeler accident. At the time Zach was an eighth-grader at Lake Forest and member of the Advanced Concert Band as well as the Jazz Band.
