A total of 76 players gathered at the Cleveland Country Club Monday as the Toyota Tennessee Junior Golf Tour made a stop at the local course.
Seven Bradley County linksters took first place honors in the 13 divisions with Andrew White, Kyle Limburg, Gage Brakebill, Drew Linkous, Katie Medley, Kassey Gregg and Kyndall Shamblin each winning their respective age brackets.
White birdied Nos. 14 and 16 to claim a five-stroke victory in the Boys 16-18 Masters, firing a 5-over 77. Two-time TSSAA state tournament participant Evan Ball, from Benton, took third in the same class with an 84, while Jordan Leggett of Cleveland was fifth with an 86 in the same division.
Limburg outdistanced his nearest 13-15 Masters competition by 10 strokes, carding an 86, while Linkous claimed the 10-13 Tour title by three strokes with a nine-hole 40 that included a pair of birdies.
Nickolas McCracken and Parker Grey tied for second in the Boys 10-13 Tour with 43s. Pete Williams was two strokes back at 45 for a fifth place finish.
Brakebill continue his strong summer play with a 4-over 40 to win the 10-11 Micro division. The local 10-year-old has four first place and a second place finish so far this summer in Junior Tour events. Kyle West came in fourth in the same age bracket.
Medley nipped fellow Clevelander Kelsey Cassada by two strokes to win the Girls 12-18 Tour bracket. Medley fired a nine-hole 43, including a birdie on No. 17 for the crown, while Cassada carded a 45. Benton’s Danielle Bates finished seventh in the age division with a 56, while Heather Ellis, also from Polk County, tied for eighth. Cleveland’s Kaylee Gregg placed 11th.
Kasey Gregg took top honors in the Girls 16-18 Tour division with an 86.
Shamblin shot a 5-over 41, including five pars and a birdie on No. 3, to win the 8-11 Micro division.
Benton’s Lydia Triplett took runner-up honors in the Girls 16-18 Masters with an 81 that featured birdies on Nos. 10 and 14. Future University of Kentucky player Jenna Burris drove over from Manchester to win the top girls’ bracket with a 77.
