He was the son of the late Albert and Thelma Emerson.
Survivors include his children: Varonda Casteel and her husband, David, of Calhoun, Sherry Martin and her husband, Ralph Jr., of Macon, Mark Emerson and his wife, Ruthann, of Cleveland, and Mike Emerson and his wife, Brandon Ray, of Dayton; nine grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters: Dorothy Norton, Ruth Laughter and Nina Rymer; one brother, Clyde Emerson; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 21, 2012, at the Flint Springs Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 4 to 8 this evening at the North Chapel of Jim Rush Funeral homes.
