Lt. Donnie Sullivan of the Cleveland Fire Department reported firefighters returned today after railroad ties, brush and other debris had rekindled near the site of Georgia Pacific located on Hardeman Lane.
- While serving an arrest warrant at an Old Charleston Road address, a Bradley County deputy spotted what he believed to be three marijuana plants which had been put in a planter at the home.
According to a report filed by deputy Jay Lawson of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Bradford Scott Allen, 19, was charged with manufacture of Schedule VI narcotics after deputies Chad Nave and Robbie Hair had taken Allen into custody regarding the warrant.
Lawson noted in his report that as deputies were securing the residence prior to their exit from the property, he observed three plants located outside the residence.
After transporting to the Bradley County Jail, deputy Aubrey Rominger located a bottle containing a pill. According to her report, the bottle was found inside her patrol car where Allen had been sitting during the transport. A check of the pill revealed it was the narcotic “Alprazolam,” according to Rominger.
Allen was booked on a charge of manufacture of Schedule VI, possession of Schedule IV narcotics and the warrant for aggravated burglary and theft over $500.
- A suspect was established in a case involving the theft of a cellphone.
According to a report filed by deputy David Michaels, he responded to the Ponderosa Truck Stop in Charleston and spoke with the complainant, Teresa Hager.
Hager said a woman entered the store and approached the counter where she was working.
Hager’s son had left the Verizon Droid Razor cellphone on the counter. The female asked to purchase a lottery ticket and when Hager turned her back to the counter, the woman allegedly took the phone.
Hager realized what had happened after the woman had left the store.
Hager then went outside the store and confronted the woman who denied taking the phone.
According to the report, the incident was captured on the store’s security camera and deputies are following up on the theft.
The phone and its protective cover were valued at $695.
