Deputy Darren Miller of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office reported the alleged meth was valued at $10,000.
According to his report, Miller’s patrol vehicle was stationary on Wildwood Lake Road when he checked the radar speed on a vehicle driven by Timothy Swallows, 37. Swallows was traveling with a passenger, Amber N. Flowers, 24, of a Decatur address.
Miller stated in his report that he could smell the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from the car the two were in.
Swallows was asked to perform a field sobriety test which he satisfactorily completed, according to Miller.
After checking with 911 dispatchers, Miller learned Swallows’ driver’s license had been revoked in 1994 and Flowers had an active warrant in Bradley County for possession of immediate methamphetamine precursors.
Swallows was taken into custody regarding the driving offenses. Flowers was also taken into custody and asked if she had anything on her person such as illegal narcotics, according to Miller.
Miller indicated Flowers turned over a large amount of “white substance believed to be methamphetamine.”
After an inventory of the vehicle which had been driven by Swallows, deputies Tim Robinson and Jeremy Guthrie along with Miller, found a significant amount of cash, a variety of alleged drug paraphernalia such as hypodermic needles, digital scales, seven cellphones and two jump drives as well as notes.
Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Drug Enforcement Unit detectives were notified of the arrests, according to the report.
Swallows was charged with speeding, driving on a revoked license, possession of Schedule II narcotics for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Flowers was charged with possession of Schedule II narcotics for resale and possession of drug paraphernalia as well as the active warrant which had been issued in Bradley County.
Flowers remains in custody at the Bradley County Jail under $15,000 bond.
Swallows was released after posting a $15,000 bond.
Flowers had a scheduled court date set for today, according to jail records.
Investigation is continuing.
