He was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during World War II. In 1988 he retired as an ordained bishop with the Church of God after 58 years. During his ministry, he was the founder and pastor of Hopewell Church of God.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curl Parker Morrow and Survilla Swafford Morrow; wife, Mamie Marie Fannin Morrow; great-grandson, Caleb Brady; stepmother, Martha Morrow; brothers: Estell, Curl, Grady and Lester Morrow; sisters: Vinie Crittenden and Leona Nichols; stepbrothers: Dean, Frances and George Arnold Morrow; and stepsister, Willie Lyles.
He is survived by his children: Lloyd Morrow and wife, Jerry, of Cleveland, Marie Cranfield and husband, Cecil, of Cleveland, Beverly J. Johnson and husband, the Rev. George Johnson, of Charleston and Anthony Morrow of Phoenix; eight grandchildren: Blake Morrow, Brenna Morrow, Bryan Cranfield and wife, Reba, Kevin Cranfield and wife, Tammy, Milan Cranfield and wife, Kim, Jamie Cranfield, Shane Johnson and wife, Dana, Sabrina Brady and husband, Mitchell, Nick Morrow, Hannah Morrow and Max Morrow; 11 great-grandchildren: Brandi Scott, Kinsley Morrow, Andrew Cranfield, Brooke Cranfield, Clay Cranfield, Olivia Brady, Kyle Brady and Bethany Brady; stepbrother, Bob Morrow; stepsisters: Mildred Swafford, Fay Hicks and husband, the Rev. Isaac Hicks, Juanita Womac and husband, Sterling, Shirley Hickman and husband, Cass, Eula Ann Shepherd and husband, Robert, and Sue Holden and husband, Larry; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. today, June 24, 2012, in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with the Revs. Roland Vaughn and Eddie Scott officiating.
Interment will follow in Double Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Blake Morrow, Shane Johnson, Bryan Cranfield, Kevin Cranfield, Milan Cranfield, Jamie Cranfield, Sabrina Brady and Brenna Morrow serving as pallbearers.
A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.
The family will received friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
