Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit deputies responded to a crash on Durkee Road Thursday after a single vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

Bradley County Fire Rescue and Bradley County Emergency Medical Service responders worked to extricate a 76-year-old man from his vehicle, according to reports.

Sgt. Andy Smith said the man was traveling north on Durkee when he possibly experienced some medical issues.

The victim, whose name was not released, was transported via ambulance to SkyRidge Medical Center for treatment, then to Erlanger Medical Center for further treatment for non-life-threatening injuries, according to Smith.

The Traffic Unit is in charge of the investigation.

n A burglar apparently locked the door to a residence which was burglarized, leaving the homeowner no way to make entry without using a ladder. Glenn Johnson then discovered his home had been burglarized.

According to a report filed by deputy Casey Kerr of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Johnson had gone for a ride on his motorcycle and left his door unlocked.

When he returned, Johnson discovered his door had been locked and he had to enter his home using a ladder. Johnson noticed a 9 mm handgun missing from the residence and other indications someone had been inside his home while he was away.

At the time of the initial report, Johnson could not provide a serial number for the handgun.

The Taurus 9 mm weapon was valued at $400.

n Cleveland Police are in charge of an investigation into an alleged robbery at a local business located on Pugh Street.

The robbery reportedly occurred early Thursday morning, according to Lt. Robert Harbison of the Criminal Investigations Division at CPD.

Details of the incident were not readily available but Detective Steve Ross is in charge of the investigation.

No arrests or charges have been placed as the investigation continues.

n Deputy Sam Long of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office filed an auto burglary report for Jessica Webb.

The report indicated Webb was working while her vehicle, which was parked at Hardee’s on Spring Place Road, was broken into.

Webb reported she had accidentally left the car unlocked while she was working inside the restaurant.

When she took a break, Webb noticed her wallet missing from her purse.

Personal identification and a small amount of cash were in the wallet.

Investigation is continuing.
