
The Bradley North 9-year old All-Stars claimed the district championship Monday night in Dayton. On the front row, from left, are Javon Burke, Cooper Cavanagh, Seth Caldwell, and Tyler Lewis. Bradley North started off strong, scoring four runs in the first inning, and headed into the sixth inning with a 6-4 lead.
In the final inning, the Cubs put runners on first and third, but Bradley North pitcher Riley Black struck one batter out. He then got a ground ball to second baseman Seth Caldwell, who tagged the runner heading to second then threw the ball to first baseman Camron Lannom for the double play to end the game.
Bradley North now heads into the state tournament this weekend with a record of 18-2, going undefeated in their last 16 games. The tournament is currently under way at Bradley County Industrial Park.
