Salvation Army continues box fan distribution
The Salvation Army continues to distribute new box fans to area residents who are trying to find relief from the extreme heat. With temperatures climbing above 100 degrees, the community needs your help now more than ever. The Salvation Army has distributed nearly 100 fans with approximately 200 families still on our waiting list. “With temperatures so high, it can become life threatening,” said Area Commander Maj. Al Newsome. “That’s why The Salvation Army is on the front lines distributing fans and cool water to keep our neighbors safe.” If you or someone you know is in need of a fan, call 423-308-3467. You can help by donating new box fans to The Salvation Army located at 437 Inman St. Monetary gifts may also be dropped by or mailed to 437 Inman St. For more information about the organization, please visit www.csarmy.org, Facebook and Twitter. The Salvation Army’s men’s ministries coordinator Tommy Ballinger gives a new box fan to Troy Martin to help endure the extreme heat from the high temperatures.
