An adult summer reading program, “Between the Covers” will run through Aug. 15. A Book Club discussion on “Unbroken” by Laura Hillenbrand will be held Thursday at 1 p.m. in the Community Room. Richard “Tiger” Jones will lead this discussion group.

FIVE POINTS FARMERS MARKET is open on Thursday afternoons from 4 to 7 p.m. at First Street Square in historic downtown. You’ll find plenty of garden fresh produce, unique arts and crafts and more. “The Abduction” by Mark Gimenez will be reviewed at the July 20 Friends of the Library Association’s Book and Coffee Series. The review will be held at 10 a.m. at the Craigmiles-Johnston House History Branch Library. FOLA president Meg Campbell and Rita Cannon will review this highly acclaimed novel.

2012 CAPTIVATING FASHION SHOW, a red carpet event, will be Sept. 29 at 11 a.m. at Lee University’s Dixon’s Center. All of the name brand outfits and voguish shoes are from second-hand stores. The models walking the runway are local people from the community. Tickets can be purchased at www.riverworshipcenter.com or by calling 309-8346. General admission is $15 and VIP admission is $35. All of the proceeds will go to Mercy’s Door Children’s Home. After the show, the clothing items will be sold — just like a real New York Fashion Show!

The Creative Discovery Museum will bring its inflatable planetarium to the library as part of the “Dream Big … Read” summer reading program on Friday. This program will introduce the concept of stars and constellations as familiar pictures in the sky. Call the Children’s desk for more information on this program.

A STAR-GAZING night will be July 16 — one of the last events of the summer reading program. Everyone is invited to the park across from the library on Lee University’s campus at Eighth and Ocoee streets. Setup will begin at 8:50 p.m. Bring chairs or blankets and your telescopes if you desire. The library will be closed at 9 p.m. that night.

TEENS will host a Murder Mystery on Friday as part of their summer reading program, “Own the Night,” at 7 p.m. Email teenzone@clevelandlibrary.org for more information and details.

The Cleveland Storytelling Guild will meet in the library’s Community Room Tuesday at 7 p.m. The public is invited to attend the meetings and listen to some wonderful stories and storytellers.

COMMON THREADS QUILT CLUB will sponsor a quilt show Oct. 12 and 13 at the Mount Olive Church of God FMC building, 3533 Harrison Pike. Admission is $3 with ticket stub entered for drawing for a pieced quilt door prize. Hours are 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. Food and crafts will be on sale.
