Edgar Huell “Ed” Lawman Jr, 90, passed away Tuesday, July 3, 2012.
He was born and raised in Chattanooga and graduated from the McCallie School and the University of Virginia. He served our country as a World War II fighter pilot with the United States Air Force in China. He was an elder at First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. E.H. Lawman Sr. of Lookout Mountain; two sons: Ted Lawman and Samuel Brunswick Lawman; one grandson, Jeremiah Mays Lawman; and one sister, Sarah Wells.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Ava “Tab” Lowe Lawman; daughter, Elsie Lawman-Markham; sons: David (Terry) Lawman, and Tom Lawman; adopted daughter, Debra Willis; grandchildren: Mr.and Mrs. Michael (Emily) Prater, Hannah Lawman, Audrey Lawman, and Laura Lawman; great-granddaughter, Kaylie Pettit; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A memorial service is planned for today, July 8, 2012, at 2 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church of Cleveland, 433 North Ocoee St., Cleveland, with Dr. Joseph Tanner officiating.
The family will gather one hour prior to receive friends.
