The Rev. Charles Andrew Forgey, 90, of Cleveland, went to be with his heavenly father on Monday, July 9, 2012, at his family residence.

He served in U.S. Army during World War II. He ministered for more than 65 years, and was ordained in the Church of God for the past 60 years. He pastored many churches across the state of Tennessee. He had a desire to serve the Lord and see many souls added to God’s kingdom.

He attended and was a member of the Prospect Church of God. He had many friends and church family, but most importantly was loved by all.

He was preceded in death by his first wife of 56 years, Billie Cissom Forgey; great-grandson, Gavin Isaac Norman; mother, Aletha Trew Forgey; father, Ambrose Forgey; stepmother, Ida Forgey; and brothers: Lake, Clyde and Donald Forgey.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Margie Wilson Forgey; son and daughter-in-law, the Rev. Gary and Brenda Forgey of Cleveland; two granddaughters and their husbands: Amber and Chuck Norman and Ashleigh and the Rev. David Pinkard, all of Cleveland; great-grandchildren: Rayven Kaleigh Norman, Drake Garrett Norman, Landon Blythe Norman, Rayleigh Brooke Pinkard and Braelyn Alayna Pinkard, all of Cleveland; stepsons and their wives: the Rev. Dwight and Jeanette Wilson of Ringgold, Ga., the Rev. Mitchell and Janie Wilson of McDonald, the Rev. Harold and Betty Ann Wilson of Chattanooga and Calvin and Marilyn Wilson of Ringgold, Ga.; several stepgrandchildren and great-grandchildren; brothers and their wives: the Rev. James and Gladys Forgey of Cleveland, and the Rev. LeRoy and Agnes Forgey of Pikeville; sister, Dorothy Brewer Holder of Cleveland; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Betty and N.C. Cartwright of Georgetown, Jim and the Rev. Jeannie Cissom, Jimmie Delores Cissom and Jerry Cissom, all of Cleveland; and many nephews and nieces.

The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Sammy Hughes, the Rev. Eddie Scott and the Rev. Timothy Gann officiating.

Interment will follow in Fort Hill Cemetery with military honors.

A white dove release ceremony will conclude the service.

Bobby Cissom, Troy Forgey, Roy Forgey, N.C. Cartwright, Tim Higgs and Steve Forgey will serve as pallbearers. Hubert Philpott, Steve Bowers, Buddy Brewer and Robert Dye will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. this evening at the funeral home and also from 6 to 9 p.m.
