WILLIE MAE LEDFORD, one of Cleveland’s oldest residents, celebrated her 105th birthday Saturday at Clare Bridge of Cleveland, where she has lived for about a year and a half. Originally from Dalton, Ga., Ledford said she worked at a hosiery mill before she retired. She has seen many major events happen in her lifetime, including World War I, the Great Depression and World War II. Through everything she has seen, Ledford still enjoys singing her favorite song, a hymn titled “What A Day That Will Be,” that talks about what it will be like to see Jesus someday.
