Paul Rayfield, 62, a resident of Cleveland, passed away Sunday, July 15, 2012, in a Chattanooga health care facility.

He was the son of the late Deyetta “Dee” Cross Rayfield and N.W. “Dub” Rayfield. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Juanita Rayfield.

He was a farmer working with poultry and cattle. He won awards for his poultry raising. He was in the used car business and was employed with Kenco in Chattanooga with 10 years of service. He was a U.S. Army veteran and loved country music, including Dwight Yoakam and gospel music.

He was a member of Samples Memorial Baptist Church, where he was very active. He loved his church and his church family.

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Vicki Stephenson Rayfield, of Cleveland; daughters: Amy Rayfield Self and her husband, Brad, and Paula Rayfield; son, Brandon Rayfield, all of Cleveland; his grandchildren: including his “favorite” grandson, Dylan Wilson; granddaughters Hailey Self and Deanna Self; a sister, Betty Rayfield and Ron Muschetto; brothers: Howard Rayfield, Jimmy Rayfield and his wife, Ruth, David Rayfield and his wife, Kim, and Donnie Rayfield and his wife, Teressa, all of Cleveland; his mother-in-law, Tommie Stephenson; several sisters-in-law and their spouses; aunt, Bertha Rayfield; his special family, Misty Ogle, and her, son, Gage Ogle, Jasmyn Moore and her children; and several nieces and nephews.

A Remembrance of Life service will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Samples Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Lee Ingram officiating.

Interment will follow in Fraziers Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 3 to 9 p.m. at Samples Memorial Baptist Church and again on Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the time of the service at 4 p.m. at the church.
