Charles N. Henderson, 82, of Cleveland, passed away at a Chattanooga hospital on Monday, July 16, 2012.

He was of the Christian faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army, where he served in the Korean Conflict. He was retired from Allied Bendix Corp. after 13 years of service.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Floyd and Lilly Mae Dyer Henderson; AND brothers: Conway, Wallace, Doug and Hoyt Henderson.

He is survived by his wife, Joan Suits Henderson; children: Deniece Scott and husband, Gary, of Bryson City, N.C., Chuck Henderson and wife, Sandra, of Cleveland, Karen Boltniew and husband, Victor, of Cleveland, and Renee Yarbrough and husband, Bruce, of Cleveland; seven grandchildren: Cassie Hall and husband, Travis, Ben Henderson, Rachel Boltniew, Abby Boltniew, Ryan Boltniew, Shelby Yarbrough and Dexter Yarbrough; AND sisters: Helen Gee of Cleveland, Mildred Muse of Resaca, Ga., and Louise Kephart of Dalton, Ga.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 19, 2012, at Hilcrest Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Joe Collins officiating.

Chuck Henderson, Gary Scott, Victor Boltniew, Bruce Yarbrough, Ben Henderson and Travis Hall will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Ryan Boltniew and Dexter Yarbrough.

The service will conclude with military honors and a white dove release ceremony.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.
