Medley, Hall tie for top TGA spot

NIOTA — Local golfers posted a tie for first, a second and a pair of third place finishes at the Tennessee Golf Association’s Junior Tour Division Regional at Springbrook Country Club the last two days.

Cleveland’s Katie Medley and Rheagan Hall from Charleston both shot 91s to tie for the top spot in the Girls’ 12-18 Division, one shot ahead of Soddy-Daisy’s Mattie Strozak. Medley shot a 47 on Tuesday and came back with a 44 Wednesday while Hall posted a 45-46 tally on the two nine-hole rounds.

Danielle Bates of Benton was just four shots off the pace to earn a fourth place finish while Cleveland’s Kelsey Cassada was fifth, another stroke back. Benton’s Lauren Passmore tied for seventh and Kaylee Gregg of Cleveland took 12th in the same division.

Cleveland’s Nicholas McCracken tied for second in the Boys’ 10-13 Division, shooting a 43-45 — 88 total, the same as Sam Marshall of Chattanooga. Parker Gray and Pete Williams, both of Cleveland, finished seventh and eighth in the same class, shooting a 85 and 96 respectively.

Rylan Parker and Kassey Gregg, both also from Cleveland, earned third place finishes as well in the Boys and Girls 16-18 year old divisions respectively.
