Just a suggestion about advertising strategy for anyone running for office during this campaign season.
We live on a rather busy street corner and find that all kinds of signs will "pop up" on our corner (especially during campaign seasons). So to be fair to everyone, we have decided not to allow any signs of any kind to be posted in our yard. Don't really care for the clutter six months out of the year.
What bothers me the most is that the signs are located in one of two places. Either it's in the right of way (which the city sign ordinances prohibit) or it is in our yard, and no one has asked my permission to do this. Doesn't seem like a good way to get a political career off the ground. Seems like it would be a thoughtful idea to contact the homeowner before putting a sign in their yard to find out if they might not want it there.
Perhaps the candidates could pass this information on to their volunteers so that they understand how to approach this in the future.
