Jerry “Barney” Lloyd Daugherty, 61, a lifelong resident of Chattanooga, passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2012, in a Chattanooga hospital.

He was of the Baptist faith.

He was a member of the Main Street Cruisers and enjoyed antique cars and going to Cruise-In’s. He was also an avid bike rider.

He was the son of the late Charles Lloyd Daugherty and Ruth Lockett Daugherty. He was also preceded in death by his son, Justin “Chad” Daugherty; sister, Ann; and brother, Paul.

He is survived by his wife, Charlotte L. Daugherty; son, Nick Daugherty; sisters: Helen Shell and Peggy Wright; pets: Gracie and Jax; and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 27, 2012, from 5 to 8 p.m. at Ralph Buckner Funeral Home.

At his request, he wanted all car club members to drive their antique cars or trucks to his visitation.

The family requests that memorials be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105.
