Clyde Lee Brown, 84, of Benton, passed gently away at his home on Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012. He was a well-respected dairy farmer who loved the land and his cows.

He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church in Benton.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Ruth Delashmitt Brown.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Dorothy Stephens Brown; two sisters: Mary Lon Hodge of Rutherford, N.C. and Betty Ann Johnson of Aynor, S.C.; and a large extended family of sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 8, 2012, at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Don Whitehead officiating.

Interment will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 9, 2012, in Benton Cemetery with a white dove ceremony concluding the service.

The family will receive friends Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the service in the funeral home.
