Firefighters from the Cleveland Professional Firefighters Local No. 3748 are teaming up with the Muscular Dystrophy Association Friday, Saturday and Sunday to “Fill the Boot.”

Firefighters will be at Walmart on Keith Street and Treasury Drive from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day to collect money in support of MDA.

These “Boot Drives” offer the community a chance to donate money that will be used in the battle against neuromuscular diseases.

The proceeds collected from the Boot Drive will aid local children and adults with neuromuscular diseases by providing wheelchairs, leg braces, clinic visits, support groups, and a weeklong summer camp for local children ages 6-17 to attend.

For over 55 years, firefighters and MDA have partnered to fight neuromuscular diseases.

As if it doesn’t suffice to rush into burning buildings, respond to emergencies in hazardous, life-threatening situations, and place it all on the line every day, some firefighters find the time to even go beyond that calling.

One such department is the Cleveland Professional Firefighters Local No. 3748.

Save your spare change and help “Fill the Boot” to make a difference.
