Jewelry reported stolen from Spring Place home

A burglary at a Spring Place Road residence netted thieves an estimated $6,000 in jewelry, according to a report filed by deputy Paul Singleton of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office. Singleton spoke with Daniel Bailey who said a large 14-carat bracelet, a large gold necklace and a gold charm which were taken sometime last week.

According to the investigation, there were no signs of forced entry to the home.

Bailey said he had the items stored in a case in his bedroom.

Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division Detective Rob Wilson is in charge of followup.

• Four pieces of heavy equipment were burglarized at a Holloway Road location. A rash of recent thefts and vandalism have occurred involving construction equipment, according to reports.

Steve Williams reported last week that someone had taken batteries and cables from four pieces of machinery. The missing batteries and cables were valued at $2,400.

A water truck was taken from a worksite on Dalton Pike, and vandalism to two cranes and other incidents have been reported in the past two weeks.

Investigation is continuing into the incidents.

• A tool bag containing various tools was reported taken late last week.

Matthew Crackel reported the theft Thursday, according to a report filed by deputy Doug Graham.

Crackel had parked his work van in front of Bellfounte Baptist Church while working inside the building.

When he returned an hour later, Crackel noticed his tool bag containing two drills, electronic test equipment, electrical tools and hand tools was missing.

The missing items were valued at approximately $1,400.
