Cleveland Police are investiging a reported stabbing at a local motel.

According to reports from Bradley County Emergency Medical Service, paramedics were called to a Georgetown Road motel where they found a 22-year-old male had been stabbed in the leg.

Stan Clark of BCEMS said the man and his father are construction workers. According to initial reports, the two men were approached by two other men, one of whom was wielding a knife.

Lt. Mark Gibson of CPD’s Criminal Investigations Division said two men from Kentucky were arrested and charged with aggravated assault.

Gibson said an argument in the parking lot escalated into a fight and that’s when the reported stabbing occurred.

“The son, in an effort to protect his father, tried to kick the knife and sustained a wound to his leg,” Clark said.

He was taken to SkyRidge Medical Center for treatment and was listed in stable condition, according to Clark.
