On Aug. 23, the areas largestnonprofit, home-school support group, Bradley County Home Educators, will host a free meeting open to the public.

This semi-annual meeting, “So You’re Thinking About Home Schooling/New To Home Schooling,” will be focused on families who have school-aged children and are exploring their options for individualized educational opportunities.

BCHE's mission is to help home-schooling families “find joy in the journey.”

Topics discussed at the meeting will include: legalities of home education, home school versus virtual public school options, how to get started, curriculum ideas, and resource discussions.

A number of veteran home-schooling parents will be on hand to help answer questions.

Home schooling is a big decision but it does not have to be overwhelming; there are innumerable resources and options for your family.

This meeting will be held at Cornerstone Family Church, located at 3800 Keith St., next to White Wing Bookstore, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday.
