Dee Burris Construction is doing the $103,000 conversion of the former Approved Auto used- car lot for West Tennessee Funeral Homes, according to the building permit issued by the city of Cleveland.
The location is between Dollar General and Tennessee Christian Preparatory School. The property is zoned Commercial Highway, (CH) which allows funeral homes and mortuaries.
Ralph Buckner of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home said Friday he is a very minor non-voting partner in the parent company that has one low-cost funeral home in Memphis.
The North Lee location will be the first one in East Tennessee and the first of 20 budget funeral homes in the Southeastern United States.
Building plans depict an office and showroom in the front and a parlor accommodating 103 occupants. The site plan shows 22 parking spaces.
