She was born in Athens on Sept. 3, 1938, a daughter of the late Henegar and Bessie Hicks.
After living in California for a time, she returned to the Athens area in 1975. She was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the Athens Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her loving husband, Billy Flatt; daughter and son-in-law, Vicki and Timothy Tiegs; son, Jamie Biggs; grandchildren: Heath and Heather Tiegs; several close cousins; and numerous other extended family members and friends.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012, at the Athens Lutheran Church, 710 Forrest Avenue, Athens, TN 37303 with Pastor Jace Detrie and Pastor Jan Munch officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Elizabeth’s memory.
