Frances Loretta McPherson, 88, of Cleveland, quietly left this world in a local nursing facility, after a long battle with Alzheimer’s disease.

She was surrounded by loyal nurses and family who ushered her into an eternal home of peace and tranquility. She passed on Monday morning, Aug. 20, 2012.

She was a devoted pastor’s wife for most of her life, being very dedicated to all the roles she was asked to perform. Her abundant love for church and family was displayed in every aspect of her life. Her love for family needs and welfare seemed to bring her the most pleasure in her life. She was a CNA at Garden Terrance in Cleveland for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Hazel Estep and sister, Christi Lee McPherson.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, the Rev. John L. McPherson of Cleveland; three children: Carolyn Hodges of Sumter, S.C., Kerry McPherson of Cleveland and Rodney McPherson of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren; sister, Louise Baker of Tucson, Ariz.; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, in the chapel of Grissom Funeral Home with Dr. G. Dennis McGuire and Pastor Fred Mercer officiating.

Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from noon to 1:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home prior to the service.
