Abby Boltniew of Cleveland has been selected as a winner of Bowater Employees Credit Union’s annual $2,000 college scholarship. She competed with many qualified candidates on the basis of grades, school activities, civic activities, and an essay on the importance of credit unions in the lives of young adults.

Boltniew is a graduate and valedictorian of Bradley Central High School, and this fall she will begin her undergraduate studies at Lee University.

“BECU is proud to have Abby representing her credit union and her community at Lee University,” said Kim Gunter, VP marketing, BECU.

BECU is a federally insured credit union offering savings, checking, loans, and financial education to those who live, work, worship, or go to school in the counties of Bradley, McMinn, Meigs, Monroe, and Polk. BECU has three branches, over 13,000 members, and $130 million in assets.
