Brittney Kay Vandergriff and Christopher James Tharpe, both of Georgetown, will exchange wedding vows in a 4 p.m. ceremony on Oct. 6 at Covenant Baptist Church, where they are both members.

The bride-elect is the daughter of Charles and Sharane Sherlin of Cleveland and Anthony and Danna Vandergriff of Abingdon, Va. She is the granddaughter of Jerry and Kay Eledge of Georgetown, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Brown of Whitwell and Gene and Saundra Vandergriff of Medina, Ohio. She is the sister of Brooke Vandergriff of Georgetown.

Miss Vandergriff is a 2011 graduate of Walker Valley High School and attends Cleveland State Community College and is pursuing a degree in nursing.

The future bridegroom is the son of Dion White of Cleveland and Melony Rezac of Fresno, Calif. He is the grandson of Fred and Jackie Woodworth of Knoxville and Henry and Sandra Perez of Fresno. He is the brother of Justin Malamphy of Fresno.

Mr. Tharpe is a 2010 graduate of Walker Valley High School and is employed by Duracell. He will be leaving in January 2013 to serve the country in the U.S. Navy.
