A Rabbit Valley Road resident claims someone entered his home and stole a firearm from his nightstand.

According to a report filed by deputy Doug Boucher of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office, Rodney Hartgraves said he kept his Taurus .22-caliber in his bedroom.

Hartgraves thinks someone entered his home sometime between June 15 and Aug. 7, and took the gun.

According to the report, the firearm is described as having cherry-wood grips and gold trim.

Hartgraves told the deputy his residence had been on the real estate market during the past few months and a number of people had toured the property.

There were no signs of forced entry to the residence.

No assesment of loss was listed in the report.

- Pry marks were found on a door at a residence where a 52-inch television was taken.

According to a report filed by deputy Daniel Watson, he responded to 2670 Strawhill Road and spoke with Stephanie Herron.

Herron said she returned home and noticed the front door open.

Further investigation revealed someone had taken her Samsung television.

Criminal Investigations Division detectives responded to the scene to collect evidence. No serial numbers were available at the time of the initial report.

- Approximately $7,000 in jewelry items were reported missing from a Hancock Road residence.

Kimberly Rogers told deputy David Harper someone had broken into the home, which had been unoccupied for appropriately three weeks.

The burglary was discovered earlier this month, according to the report. Forced entry was evident at the scene.

Rogers told the deputy she would make an itemized list of the missing jewelry.

CID detectives were notified of the break-in.
