A weed cutter was reported taken from a Trewhitt Road address last week. The victim thinks it went missing sometime earlier the same week.
Jeremy C. Cartwright told Deputy Darren Miller of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office the theft occurred between Tuesday and Thursday. The John Deere weed cutter was taken from an unenclosed shed, which was not secured.
The machine was valued at $200.
- Approximately $300 in damage was done to a barbed-wire fence located on Old Harrison Road.
The incident was reported Friday, according to a report filed by deputy Doug Boucher.
Ruby Pike stated someone had cut four strands of fencing which contained her cattle in her pasture.
Investigation is continuing.
- Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Driver’s License Roadside Safety Checkpoints in Bradley County beginning this weekend.
The checkpoints will be set up in random locations in the county.
According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public, by motorists who would violate the driver’s license laws of the state.
All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
