Bradley County detectives responded to the house to collect evidence left behind.
According to a report filed by deputy Casey Kerr, Jason Bostic had been in the process of moving his belongings into his new residence.
Bostic made the discovery while moving additional items.
Evidence showed someone had used a crow bar to pry a rear door open.
The burglary occurred sometime during the weekend and was reported Monday.
Twelve firearms, four crossbows and two Marlboro sleeping bags were missing.
Detective David Shoemaker of the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division responded to the scene to aid in evidence collection.
There was no dollar estimate listed in the report regarding the loss.
n Deputy Doug Boucher filed a report about firearms taken from a truck which was parked at a Nature’s Trail business.
Mike Broyles said someone broke a window from his 1993 Ford pickup truck and took a .9 mm Ruger handgun. A tool box which contained a rifle was in the back of the truck.
The report indicated the tool box was opened and a Remington .22-caliber rifle was taken.
The firearms were valued at $900.
Investigation is continuing.
n Tennessee Highway Patrol will be conducting Driver’s License Roadside Safety Checkpoints in Bradley County beginning this weekend.
The checkpoints will be set up in random location in the county.
According to THP officials, checkpoints are an effective means of recognizing the dangers presented to the driving public, by motorists who would violate the driver’s license laws of the state.
All scheduled checkpoints are contingent upon weather conditions and manpower availability.
