Applications for Cleveland Apple Festival pageants are available online

The Cleveland Apple Festival is gearing up for its appearance in downtown Cleveland Oct. 20 and 21.

The final attraction of the two-day event will be the selection of the Little Miss, Junior Miss and Miss Apple Blossom winners.

The competition will be held at 5 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 21.

The Apple Blossom pageants will be divided into three age divisions — 5 to 7 years, Little Miss Apple Blossom; 8 to 10 years, Junior Miss Apple Blossom; and 11 to 12 years, Miss Apple Blossom — with grand prize in each age bracket ot receive a $35 gift card. The runner-up in each age division will receive a $25 gift card.

Contestants must purchase a child’s ticket to attend the festival on Sunday as part of their pageant participation. Pageant-ready contestants must sign in at the contest table by 3:30 p.m.

The judges’ chat and dress rehearsal will begin at 3:45 p.m.

The public portion of the contest and on-stage presentation will begin at 5 p.m.

Contestants must be preregistered online by Oct. 6 Contestants must have a sponsor, business or family, who will pay her $20 entry fee. Checks need to be made out to the Cleveland Apple Festival.

Appl ications can be found at clevelandapplefestival.org under the contests feature. The applications must be submitted via mail to P.O. Box 0761, Cleveland, TN 37364-0761.

Contestants must agree to a judges’ chat and /or stage interview, agree to appear in a farmer-type or country-style outfit, and agree ot be without makeup (natural) with age appropriate hair..

The decision of the judges will be final.

A parent, legal guardian or contestant’s sponsor must accompany the contestant and be present during the competition.

Contestants by entering agree to allow the Cleveland Apple Festival and/or its sponsors to sue their likeness and name for publicity purposes relating to the festival and/or Little Miss, Junior Miss or Miss Apple Blossom competition.

Immediate family members or employees of directors of the Cleveland Apple Festival cannot enter the competition. The Apple Festival reserves the right to limit the number of entries, should the amount of entries become larger than can feasibly be judged by the panel in the alloted time.

The Cleveland Apple Festival will offer a juried art and craft show, live music, food booths, pony and hay rides, entertainment, children’s activities and more.

The Cleveland Apple Festival is a 501(c)(3) charity that donates all net proceeds to other nonprofit organizations in the Cleveland area.
