“Parenting is a job that truly impacts the world one child at a time,” according to Dr. John Vining.

Family Matters Bradley in partnership with First Things First in Chattanooga is offering two parenting workshops in September, Vining said.

Building Blocks for Parents is an eight-hour training designed for parents with children between the ages of 0-4.

This training will offer parents sound parenting techniques/skills to help prepare them for the early years of tremendous growth of their child.

Building Blocks for Parents will be conducted on Sept. 11 and 13, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The classes will be conducted at the Bradley County Health Department located at 200 Dooley St. Lunch will be served for those preregistered and there is no charge for the training.

Call 423-267-5383 to register. Participants who complete both sessions will receive a free $50 Family Fun Pack.

The second parenting training is called Rules to Raise Your Children By. Despite the fact parents are not sent home with an owner’s manual when their children are born, there are proven parenting techniques that will help parents thrive as a family.

This class for parents of elementary age children will help parents master these skills.

Rules to Raise Your Children By will be offered Sept. 14 and 15 at Living Word Church located on 25th St. Friday night’s session is scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m.; Saturday’s session is slated for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Those completing the Rules training will also receive a free $50 Family Fun Pack.

Meals will be provided for those preregistered. Call 423-267-5383 to register.
