He was a member of Zion Baptist Church. He was a graduate of Polk County High School, where he was a gifted athlete, in football, basketball and baseball. His life-long passion was farming and livestock.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Carroll McClary.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sandy McClary of Old Fort; children: Tiffany and Scott Martin of Old Fort, Adam and Whitney McClary of Cleveland and Seth and Danielle McClary of Old Fort; mother, Billie Anne Howard McClary of Benton; sister, Carol Anne McClary of Delano; five grandchildren: BreAnne Martin, Wyatt Martin, Aiden McClary, Belle McClary and Addi Grace McClary; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. on today, Sept. 9, 2012, at Higgins Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Martin and the Rev. Eddie Trentham officiating.
Interment will follow in Benton Memorial Gardens with a white dove release ceremony concluding the service.
