She was born at Fort Oglethorpe, where her father was stationed after World War I, and was christened at the Old Post Chapel.
She was a member of Signal Mountain Presbyterian Church.
She was preceded in death by parents, Margaret Vandergriff and James T. Ware; husband, A. Jackson Sanders; and brothers: Stuart Bernard Ware, William Laney Ware and James T. Ware Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Jacqueline Sanders Callaway and husband, William Lloyd Callaway; grandson, William Lloyd Callaway III; granddaughter, Laney Callaway McNulty and husband, Matthew McNulty; great-grandson, William Callaway Bray; and brother, Robert Lee Ware.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012, from 1 to 2 p.m., at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 5401 Highway 153, Chattanooga. Graveside service will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery with nephews serving as pallbearers.
