Ronnie Lee Hawkins, 46, of Athens, died Friday, Sept. 7, 2012, at a Knoxville medical center.

He was a native of Chicago but had lived most of his live in Athens and Cleveland.

He was preceded in death his parents, Clarence and Joyce Jones; his birth father, Lonnie Ray Hawkins; a brother, Kenny Coleman; and a sister, Sandra Ledford. He was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include his wife, Shannon Farrell Hawkins, of Athens; daughters: Casie Wilcox of Cleveland and Nikki Hawkins of Athens; son, Travis Hawkins of Athens; brothers: Tim Hawkins and Danny Jones, both of Athens; sisters: Cynthia Palmer, Cathy Ledford, Karen Ledford, Debbie Jones, Donna Graves, and Julie Graves, all of Athens; and one grandson.

The funeral will be held at 8 p.m. today, Sept. 10, 2012, in the chapel of Ziegler Funeral Home in Athens.

Interment will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Hilltop Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
