Eugene “Wart” Myers, 77, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2012.

He attended Fourth Street Community Church. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Myers; parents, Richard and Reatha Myers; brothers: Cleve Myers, John Myers, Jim Myers and Herman “Squeaky” Myers; and sisters: Judy Gilbert, Vivian Brown and Eulene “Sis” Sneed.

He is survived by his children: David Myers and wife, Barbara, of Dalton, Ga., Mike Myers and wife, Tracy, of Chattanooga and Darlene Thurman and husband, Bobby, of Cleveland; three grandchildren: Shonna Warren and Corey Myers, both of Cleveland and Sarah Myers of Dalton, Ga.; two great-grandchildren: Jakob Warren of Cleveland and Ethan Myers of Dalton; sister, Susie Satterfield of Cleveland; brothers: Bob Myers and Wayne Myers, both of Cleveland; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral will be held at 12:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 14, 2012, in the chapel of Ralph Buckner Funeral Home with the Rev. Frank Ellis officiating.

Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.

The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 this evening at the funeral home.
